If you only see one war movie, see this one. It follows Airbourne Easy company through the second world war in extreme detail. Altho it is rated 15, i would have given it a rating of 18, I simply couldn't watch the third disc without feeling physically sick. Brings home the reality of war, but also brings some understading of the bond shared by combat buddies.
