Part 1
- We used the Magic Wand Tool this week for making specific selections. Describe what the Magic Wand does. How do you add to and take away from selections with the Magic Wand?
The magic wand automatically selects areas of the same hue/brightness (or whatever is specified) within set tolerances. To add to a selection, hold down SHIFT before clicking and to remove a selection hold down CTRL before clicking.
- You have an image opened in PSP. You want to paste this image as a transparent selection into another image. What steps must you take to accomplish this task?
- Use the dropper tool to pick up the "background" colour which you want to be transparent and make this your current background colour.
- Copy the image
- Use the menu's or CTRL+SHIFT+E to paste into the new image with a transparent background.
- You have decided you would like to see your image pixel by pixel so that you can make some fine color corrections. What steps would you have to take to see each individual pixel?
- Use the preferences to specify a grid size of 1 x 1
- Use the zoom tool to zoom in so that the pixels are a comfortable size on the screen
- OPTIONAL: you can use the overview window for an overall image
