Week 6

Have you modified your approach to consulting since having taken this class? If so, how?

Yes! Before I didn't know anythign about contracts or how helpful they could be to me. Now I do!

Will you use contracts for future consulting work?

Absolutely-most-definitely YES!

Do you think that applying the concepts in the class will increase the income you generate on a per contract basis?

Well... since I've never earned anything before except with my regular employment, anything will be an improvement!

How will you use cost estimating spreadsheets?

To work out what my client owes me roughly, so that I can give them an idea at each status meeting of how the project is running to budget.

How did you benefit from the information that was presented by your fellow class members?

Hugely. I couldn't have done it without them, having no previous experience of contracting myself, it was enlightening to hear about their stories.

What is the one recommendation you would give to your fellow class members -- the one idea from this class that has helped you the most and that you encourage them to try?

I can't really think of anything that they haven't suggested to me...

Do you know of other books that would be good to use for this class?

Unfortunately no.. but I'm sure there are plenty out there!

Are there other topics that should be included or covered in more detail?

What should be covered in meetings.

Are there topics that should be dropped?

Not in my opinion.

Did you think there was too much work, too little work, or about the right amount?

Just about right for me, enough to stretch but not so much to give a nervous breakdown!

What was the most challenging part of the class?

Geting the assignments in on time due to personal circumstances.

Would you be interested in being a teaching assistant for class?

Very much so. I log on several times a day and read most everyone's messages anyway.
